The main focus of this project was remedial repair of a failed timber post and panel retaining wall, with a secondary focus on retention of a slip adjacent to the failed wall. Work consisted of vegetation clearing and spoil removal, drilling and installation of soil nails, placement of mesh, and construction of a GCS® wall. The project was completed to the customer’s specified standards with all tests, including grout UCS tests and soil nail load testing, achieving the required results.
This project involved the design and construction of three retaining walls to remediate slips and increase the road width. Hiway GeoStabilization’s design involved installation of micropiles and construction of a reinforced concrete footing.
